Safety Harbor is the smallest top-tier city in our service area — 5 square miles, ZIP 34695, tucked between Oldsmar and Clearwater on Old Tampa Bay. What it lacks in geographic footprint it makes up for in character: a genuine walkable downtown around Main Street, the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa (the natural mineral springs the city is named for), and Philippe Park along the bay. The city has a strong arts scene for its size, anchored by the Safety Harbor Art Center and the monthly Third Friday street festival.
For renters, Safety Harbor occupies a sweet spot: bigger and quieter than downtown Dunedin, more walkable than Oldsmar, and noticeably cheaper than equivalent walkable real estate in Palm Harbor's village center. The school district is Pinellas County, and Safety Harbor Middle and the elementary feeders consistently grade out well. The downside is the same as Dunedin — inventory is tight, and quality rentals move fast.
Most of our Safety Harbor inventory is single-family — 1960s-90s block ranches and 2- to 3-bedroom homes in established neighborhoods. A handful of newer townhomes and condos exist around the downtown core and along Philippe Parkway. The combination of small-town walkable downtown plus 20-minute commute to Westshore via the Courtney Campbell is what most renters are buying.

Walking distance to Main Street, the Spa, Philippe Park, and the bay. Mostly older single-family on tree-lined streets. Premium pricing — you're paying for the walkability and downtown access.
North of downtown along Philippe Parkway. Mix of waterfront single-family and inland homes near the park. Quiet residential with bay access at the park itself.
The western half toward the Clearwater line. More conventional suburbia — 1970s-80s single-family on bigger lots, less downtown walkability but better value per square foot.
Roughly on par with Dunedin — 2-bedroom $2,000-2,700, 3-bedroom $2,400-3,300, downtown-walkable properties trend higher. Call (727) 943-9500 for current availability.
Yes, for the few blocks around Main Street. Restaurants, the spa, Philippe Park entry, and several galleries are within walking distance. Beyond that core the city is car-oriented.
Pinellas County Schools. Safety Harbor Middle and the elementary feeders (Safety Harbor Elementary, McMullen-Booth) are well-regarded. High school is Countryside or Palm Harbor University depending on the address.
Most of our Safety Harbor rentals welcome dogs and cats with a deposit. Downtown condos occasionally restrict via HOA; each listing notes the policy.
Courtney Campbell to Westshore in about 20 minutes off-peak. The southern Safety Harbor entrances to the causeway shave a few minutes off vs Oldsmar. Downtown Tampa runs 35-40 in rush hour.
